In some situations, drivers use it as an informal way to show that something may be wrong with the vehicle or someone inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A white cloth is often associated with peace, surrender, or a request for assistance. When attached to a vehicle, it can make the car more noticeable to passing drivers. One common explanation is a mechanical problem, particularly when a vehicle has stopped or is moving unusually slowly. The cloth may encourage other motorists to be more cautious and recognize that the driver could be experiencing trouble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some circumstances, the signal may suggest a more urgent problem. Someone inside the vehicle could be experiencing a medical issue, or the driver may have run out of fuel or need other assistance. However, the meaning is not universal.
